My grandpa died when I was 16.  I got his old (1924) Gillette New Improved Tuckaway. I shaved with it until I went away to college.  It was the first old razor and the start of my collection. I always think of my grandpa when I use it.

The new improved has a big gap, so any error in use can lead to bloodshed. Proper use leads to a great shave.
